Description
1) Objective
Urgent Action Fund for Feminist Activism provides fast, flexible support to women, trans and non-binary activists so that they can respond to unexpected risks and opportunities, protect and care for themselves and one another, and nurture and sustain thriving frontline feminist movements for a just and equitable world.
Security grants can be used to support the safety and security of activists. The time frame between receiving the grant and reporting back is 3 months.
2) Eligibility
Eligible are: (1) Women/Trans/Non-Binary Led – Women, trans, or non-binary people must be the primary decision makers; (2) Focus On Women, Trans, And Non-Binary Rights: Actions proposed must benefit women, trans, and non-binary people; (3) Urgent And Unanticipated: The specific situation must be unanticipated and time urgent. Actions must be implemented within 3 months of approval of the grant; (4) Networked: The group must have support from local or international feminist activists or networks
3) Location
Actions can take place in Canada, Central Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the Balkans, the Caucasus, and the United States.
4) Budget
Grant amounts are up to $8,000 USD.
5) Application
Applications can be submitted all year round via the online form. Decisions are made between 1 and 10 business days. Once a grant is approved, funds can be wired within 24 hours to 10 business days.
