Description
1) Objective
The global objective of this call for proposals is “to strengthen CSOs as independent actors of good governance and development in their own right, and to contribute to an enabling environment for sustainable development and growth in Tanzania”.
This call for proposals is divided in 4 lots:
- Lot 1: Journalists professional capacities
Specific objective for lot 1: To strengthen media professionalism in line with high standards of ethics, accountability, legality and credibility, ensuring balanced and high-quality reporting. - Lot 2: Youth capacity strengthening and engagement in decision making
Specific objective for lot 2: To strengthen capacity of youth organizations and enhance meaningful youth engagement in decision- making processes. - Lot 3: Advancing the rule of law
Specific objectives Lot 3: To enhance capacities and collaboration between rule of law institutions, Bar Associations and civil society to advance rule of law though accountable, effective and equitable justice system. - Lot 4: Public accountability and transparency
Specific objectives Lot 4: To strengthen accountability and inclusive dialogue on financial governance to enhance enabling environment for sustainable development and growth in Tanzania.
2) Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be non-profit-making and (3) be a specific type of organisation such as: a civil society organisation (CSO) or an international (inter-governmental) organisation and (4) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Tanzania.
4) Budget
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €6,500,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €1,000,000 and maximum €2,000,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (75%) and maximum (90%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action.
5) Application
The concept note together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted online via PROSPECT. The deadline for the submission is 25 March 2024.
