Description
1) Objective
This restricted call for proposal is divided into three (3) Lots of which Lot one (1) relates to Human Rights and Democracy thematic programme and Lots two (2) and Three (3) relate to the CSO thematic programme.
- LOT 1- Gender Equality and Women’s Rights: The global objective of the Human Rights and Democracy thematic call for proposals is to protect human rights and fundamental freedoms, democracy and the rule of law.
The specific objective of Lot 1 is:- SO: 1: To strengthen and increase participation of CSOs to promote Gender Equality & Women’s Rights

- LOT 2- Good Governance and Community Development: The global objectives of Lots 2 and 3 of the CSO Thematic programme is to strengthen CSOs in Guyana as independent actors of good governance and development in their own rights and to contribute to an inclusive, participatory, empowered and independent civil society and democratic space and an inclusive and open dialogue with and between Civil Society Organisations.
The specific objective of Lot 2 is:- SO: 1-To strengthen local civil society organisations including small and grassroots CSOs, engagement as actors of good governance and development in their communities.
- LOT 3- Natural Resources Management: The global objectives of Lots 2 and 3 of the CSO Thematic programme are to strengthen CSOs in Guyana as independent actors of good governance and development in their own rights and to contribute to an inclusive, participatory, empowered and independent civil society and democratic space and an inclusive and open dialogue with and between Civil Society Organisations
The specific objective of this lot is:- SO: 1 Preservation and Sustainable Natural Resources Management in Region No. 1, as it relates to Biodiversity, conservation and development.
2) Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be non-profit-making and (3) be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation/civil society organisation and (4) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Guyana.
4) Budget
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €1,248,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €300,000 and maximum €487,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (60%) and maximum (95%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action.
5) Application
The concept note together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted online via PROSPECT. The deadline for the submission is 30 August 2023.
