Description
1) Objective
The global objective of this call for proposals is to contribute to an inclusive, participatory, empowered and independent civil society and democratic space in partner countries. This Call for Proposals has two (2) lots:
- Lot 1- Agricultural Rural Development Programme: The specific objective(s) of Lot 1 is to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the smallholder dominated agricultural sector to meet the standards set by the international regulation, such as the international agri-food safety standards or the EU Deforestation Regulation (a.k.a. EU Regulation on Deforestation-free Products).
- Lot 2: Women’s Economic Empowerment and Leadership: The specific objective of Lot 2 is to increase women’s access to skills development, entrepreneurial training, financial services, products and business leadership.
Applicants are to ensure that the proposed action includes a component on community infrastructure or equipment support. Minimum percentage of 10% and maximum percentage of 30% of the total eligible cost of the Action should be budgeted for infrastructure. Proposals that do not include an infrastructure component will be rejected.
2) Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be non-profit-making and (3) be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation or international (inter-governmental) organization as defined by Article 156 of the EU Financial Regulation and (4) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Papua New Guinea.
4) Budget
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €4,317,500. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €500,000 and maximum €2,000,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (50%) and maximum (90%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action.
5) Application
The concept note together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted online via PROSPECT. The deadline for the submission is 24 May 2024.
