Description
1) Objective
The general objective of this call for proposals is to contribute to reducing the loss of biodiversity while sustainably improving the quality of life of local and indigenous communities living within the priority landscapes for conservation and development (PPCD/KLCD) in sub-Saharan Africa.
The specific objective is to improve the conservation, management and use of biodiversity and goods and services provided by ecosystems within targeted Protected Areas and their zone of influence directly for the benefit of all stakeholders including in particular local and indigenous communities, in particularly women, young people and vulnerable populations.
2) Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be non-profit-making and (3) be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisations (NGOs), economic operators (private), operators in the sector
public, local authorities and international (intergovernmental) organizations; and (4) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Gabon.
4) Budget
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €3,200,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €3,100,000 and maximum €3,200,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (51%) and maximum (90%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action.
5) Application
The concept note together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted online via PROSPECT. The deadline for the submission is 12 November 2024.
