Description
1) Objective
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more by creating a lasting impact on the world. Across the company, Microsoft works to apply the power of technology to ensure corporate responsibility. Microsoft offers donated and discounted products through three programs available to eligible non-profit organisations. These programs include the following: (1) Cloud Services; (2) Software; and (3) Volume Discounts.
Local Microsoft Philanthropies offices also regularly hold training events to help non-profits better use technology and learn how technology can improve the impact of their organisations. Please note that not every program is available in every country. Cash grants are limited and typically result from an invitation to apply for a grant. Most of its grants to non-profits are in the form of software, which they make broadly available to eligible organisations.
2) Eligibility
The monetary grants are offered to eligible organisations whose missions and activities align to Microsoft’s core programs.
3) Location
Microsoft’s grants are available to both small and large NGOs across the globe.
4) Budget
No standard funding amount is set. The amount of assistance is decided based on the details of the project and the project budget plan.
5) Application
The Microsoft philanthropy program for non-profits provides support in the form of software donations, training and monetary grants. Interested non-profits are required to visit Microsoft Philanthropies website and register their organisation. They will then get access to the non-profit hub.
