Description
1) Objective
PADETC (Participatory Development Training Centre) is an indigenous Lao organisation committed to making a unique and distinctive contribution to the development of Laos. Their work is based on the principles of Education for Sustainable Development. Their key working areas are (2) capacity building for local organisations; (2) service delivery through learning centres and networks; and (3) leadership and advocacy.
To build the capacities of local civil society organisations, The Centre delivers a Small Grants Fund that is supported by Oxfam Novib. The Fund supports institutional capacity building for local organisations in the areas of project/program, financial, human resource management and IT. The Centre also offers support and mentoring to grantees.
2) Eligibility
Eligible for the Small Grants Fund are solely Lao speaking local civil society organisations. Priority is given to those organisations with no direct access to other funds. Individual grants for institutional strengthening and program support (especially in the areas of agriculture, education and youth development) range from $5,000 to $10,000 per grantee.
3) Location
Grant funding is provided to organisations and capacity building projects in Laos.
4) Budget
Grant sizes range from $5,000 to $10,000 per grantee.
5) Application
The application form (in Lao language only) can be downloaded from the Centre’s website and applications may be submitted throughout the year. Around five or six organisations are supported every year.
