Description
1) Objective
The United States African Development Foundation (USADF) has initiated the Community Development Institutions Program in Senegal to enhance the capacity of local development institutions. The program aims to strengthen these organizations to support community-based activities that benefit underserved populations.
Through cooperative agreements with local partners, USADF intends to provide technical assistance and project support to grassroots entities seeking or receiving grant funds. The ultimate goal is to empower these organizations to improve lives and livelihoods in poor and vulnerable communities across Senegal.
2) Eligibility
Qualified not-for-profit organizations and for-profit firms with the necessary expertise are encouraged to apply. Applicants should possess core competencies and experience in providing technical assistance, organizational and financial management, business development, marketing analysis, and monitoring and evaluation. Familiarity with participatory development methods and the ability to work with grassroots groups are essential criteria for selection.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Senegal.
4) Budget
USADF anticipates awarding one renewable 12-month cooperative agreement for a total possible length of five years. The cooperative agreement will be awarded in U.S. Dollars, and the total funding amount will be determined based on the proposal’s merit and alignment with program goals.
5) Application
Interested organizations must submit a complete application package by the specified deadline to rfasenegal2024@usadf.gov. The application package should include financial statements, a registration document, and a completed grant application form available in English or French. The submission deadline for proposals is June 7, 2024, at 17:59 hours Eastern Daylight Time (23:59 Dakar time).
