Description
1) Objective
The global objective of this call for proposals is to promote and protect human rights and fundamental freedoms in Lebanon:
- Specific objective 1 – Protecting and empowering individuals: to contribute to the full enjoyment by every one of all human rights, be they civil, political, economic, social or cultural rights;
- Specific objective 2 – Safeguarding fundamental freedoms, including harnessing the opportunities and addressing the challenges of new technologies: to create and maintain an environment conducive to the full exercise of all fundamental freedoms, online and offline.
The priorities of this call for proposals are:
- LOT 1: Enhance access to fundamental rights of people deprived from liberty
- LOT 2: Promote children’s rights and prevent all forms of violence against children
- LOT 3: Countering the misuse and abuse of digital and new technologies
2) Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be non-profit-making and (3) be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation, public sector operator, international (inter-governmental) organisation as defined by Article 156 of the EU Financial Regulation and (4) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Lebanon.
4) Budget
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €3,950,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €1,200,000 and maximum €1,300,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (90%) and maximum (95%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action.
5) Application
The concept note together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted online via PROSPECT. The deadline for the submission is 26 April 2024.
