Description
1) Objective
The global objective of this call for proposals is to contribute to the development and consolidation of democracy and the rule of law and respect for all human rights and fundamental freedoms by supporting human rights defenders in their efforts to protect and promote human rights and fundamental freedoms. The specific objectives of this call for proposals are:
– Supporting CSOs that work for the protection and promotion of human rights defenders.
– Supporting human rights defenders in their efforts to promote and strive for the protection and realisation of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
The priorities of this call for proposals are:
• protection of human rights defenders;
• enhancing technical knowledge and skills of human rights defenders;
• strengthening capacities of human rights defenders for carrying out their activities, including but not limited to monitoring and documenting violations, seeking remedies for victims of human rights violations, combating impunity, improving access to justice.
2) Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be non-profit-making and (3) be a civil society organisation and (4) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Turkey.
4) Budget
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €4,400,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €4,200,000 and maximum €4,400,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (100%) and maximum (100%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action.
5) Application
The full application together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted online via PROSPECT. The deadline for the submission is 21 May 2024.
