he global objective of this call for proposals is to strengthen CSOs as independent actors of good governance and development in their own right, and to accelerate progress towards gender equality and women and girls ‘empowerment in Tanzania.
This call for proposals is divided in 3 lots:
- LOT 1: Enabling Environment for Civil Society – Specific objective Lot 1: Foster an enabling environment for civil society, which supports civic space and CSO-Government dialogue.
- LOT 2: Sector Policy Advocacy and Social Cohesion – Specific objectives Lot 2:
2.1. Increase inclusive participation, advocacy, and accountability in relation to the following priority sectors: natural resources management, climate change, green and sustainable cities, blue economy or digital inclusion
2.2. Enhance engagement and collaboration between local authorities and youth in order to increase social cohesion and mutual trust within communities.
- LOT 3: Women’s Participation, Leadership and Behavioural Changes – Specific objectives Lot 3:
3.1 Promoting women participation and leadership in public and private spheres
3.2. Addressing the root causes of gender inequality and gender-based-violence
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be non-profit-making: non-governmental organisation, a civil society organisation and/or their associations, international (inter-governmental) organisation as defined by Article 156 of the EU Financial Regulation and (3) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
Actions must take place in Tanzania.
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €7,200,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €700,000 and maximum €2,000,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (75%) and maximum (90%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 30 months nor exceed 48 months.
The concept note together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted online via PROSPECT. The deadline for the submission is 11 May 2022.
