Description
1) Objective
The global objective of this call for proposals is: Strengthened role of civil society in promoting human rights, democracy and good governance in Montenegro. The specific objective(s) of this call for proposals are twofold: one is to support civil society and human rights defenders working in the area of access to justice and the rule of law, and the other is in the area of fighting impunity and the protection of journalists, as further explained under the section 2.1.3.
This call for proposals is divided in two lots, each with its own specific objectives and priorities, as indicated below. Within the general objective in each lot, the proposed actions may address one or more of the specific objectives of the lot
- Lot 1 Supporting good governance and rule of law: 400,000 EUR
- Lot 2 Fighting impunity and support to journalists: 500,000 EUR
2) Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be non-profit-making and (3) be a specific type of organisation such as: civil society organisation and (4) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Montenegro.
4) Budget
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €900,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €100,000 and maximum €150,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (50%) and maximum (95%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 24 months nor exceed 36 months.
5) Application
The full application together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted online via PROSPECT. The deadline for the submission is 24 May 2023.
