Description
1) Objective
The overall objective of this call for proposals is to contribute to the full enjoyment of all human rights and strengthen the capacities of civil society in the promotion of democracy, human rights and fundamental freedoms in El Salvador.
LOT 1: Civil Society Organizations Program (NDICI-OSC)
The specific objective of lot 1 of this call for proposals is to strengthen the capacities of CSOs to promote dialogue with state institutions at the local level, as well as strengthen participation and articulation between different social actors, with special attention to the inclusion of vulnerable population (people with disabilities, older adults, indigenous peoples and LGBTIQ+ people.
LOT 2: Human Rights and Democracy (NDICI-HR)
The specific objective of lot 2 of this call is to strengthen the work of human rights defense organizations, which work to ensure that access to justice for adolescents deprived of liberty conforms to the international parameters of rights applicable to juvenile criminal justice. With special attention to arbitrary captures and compliance with due process.
2) Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be non-profit-making and (3) be a specific type of organisation, such as: non-governmental organisation and (4) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
3) Location
Actions must take place in El Salvador.
4) Budget
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €3,561,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €500,000 and maximum €1,000,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (75%) and maximum (90%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action.
5) Application
The concept notes together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted online via PROSPECT. The deadline for the submission is 1 July 2024.
