Description
1) Objective
CEPF is a joint initiative of l’Agence Française de Développement, Conservation International, the European Union, the Global Environment Facility, the Government if Japan and the World Bank. CEPF, KfW and the Government of Ecuador have come together to support a grant program to engage civil society organizations in the conservation of biodiversity in the Ecuadorian portion of the Tropical Andes through CEPF.
- Strengthen protection and management of 52 priority KBAs to foster participatory governance, green recovery from COVID-19, climate change resilience, species conservation, and financial sustainability.
- In the seven priority corridors, collaborate with public and private sector stakeholders to enable biodiversity conservation, a green recovery from COVID-19, and environmental, financial, and social sustainability, in benefit of the priority KBAs.
- Safeguard priority globally threatened species.
- Cultivate a well-trained, well-coordinated and resilient civil society sector at the local, corridor, and hotspot levels to achieve CEPF’s conservation outcomes.
2) Eligibility
Eligible applicants non-government organizations, community groups, indigenous people’s organizations, women’s groups, private companies and other civil society organizations.
3) Location
Actions can take place in Ecuador.
4) Budget
Large grants – from US$50,001 to US$200,000; Small Grants – from US$5,000 to US$50,000.
5) Application
Applicants must respond to the call via the ConservationGrants electronic portal. CEPF will not accept letters of inquiry via email or any other mechanism. The application deadline is June 11, 2023 (10:59 pm. Quito time and 11:59 pm. Washington, D.C. time).
