Description

1) Objective

The global objective of this call for proposals is: to increase access to renewable energy, accelerate transition to the circular economy, and expand sustainable agri-food value chains in Somalia. The specific objective(s) of this call for proposals is: to improve green skills in the renewable energy, circular economy and sustainable agribusiness in Somalia.

The priorities of this call for proposals are: provision of institutional capacity building support related to TVET to meet the needs of the labour market and adhere to the goals of the green economy; promoting structural collaboration between businesses and TVET schools; providing financial and operational support for the running of TVET centres; engaging with the private sector to organise awareness raising campaigns in communities demonstrating opportunities for studying and training.

2) Eligibility

In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must: (1) be a legal person and (2) be non-profit-making and (3) be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation and (4) be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.

Actions must take place in Somalia.

4) Budget

The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €6,500,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum €6,450,000 and maximum €6,500,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum (50%) and maximum (90%) percentage of total eligible costs of the action.

5) Application

The full application together with the declaration by the lead applicant must be submitted online via PROSPECT. The deadline for the submission is 19 September 2024.
