Description
1) Objective
The USAID/Jordan’s “Locally Led Development Annual Program Statement” aims to advance the Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) in Jordan. It focuses on empowering local entities to contribute to key sectors such as democracy and governance, economic development, water security, environmental sustainability, climate change, education, youth, and waste management.
The program encourages local actors to submit Expressions of Interest or Concept Papers to propose activities that align with these priorities, fostering sustainable development and local leadership in addressing critical issues.
2) Eligibility
Eligible applicants are local entities that have received less than $5 million in direct funding from USAID in the past five years. This criterion is designed to prioritize organizations with limited prior exposure to USAID funding, thereby broadening the range of contributors to development efforts in Jordan.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Jordan.
4) Budget
The program has an award ceiling of $10,000,000 and an award floor of $250,000. This range indicates the minimum and maximum funding amounts that proposals can request. The total program funding and the expected number of awards were not specified.
5) Application
Interested local entities can submit either a one-page Expression of Interest or a more detailed five-page Concept Paper. The submission deadline is April 8, 2024. Applicants must familiarize themselves with the details of the Annual Program Statement and this specific addendum. The application and additional details can be accessed through the Grants.gov website, with the specific opportunity ID being 7200AA19APS00007-23.
