Description
1) Objective
The U.S. Embassy Mogadishu Public Affairs Section (PAS) is pleased to announce an open competition for assistance awards, contingent on funding availability, through the Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. The implementer(s) will be a legally recognized non-profit and non-governmental organization(s) that meets U.S. and Somali technical and legal requirements to develop and implement public diplomacy programs as specified in Section C.
PAS Mogadishu invites proposals for programs that strengthen cultural, academic, and professional ties between the United States and Somalia through programming and exchanges that highlight shared values and promote bilateral cooperation. All programs must include an American cultural element and/or connection(s) with American expert(s), organization(s), or institution(s) that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives.
2) Eligibility
Applications are encouraged from U.S., Somali, and international parties who may have experience in the areas of interest described in this Annual Program Statement. Parties such as registered not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations with programming experience; non-profit educational institutions; and individuals are encouraged to apply. For-profit or commercial entities are not eligible to apply.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Somalia.
4) Budget
Awards may range from a minimum of $10,000 to a maximum of $100,000.

Applications can be submitted by 30 June 2022.
