Description
1) Objective
The U.S. Embassy in Madagascar and Comoros announces the availability of funding through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. This program supports projects proposed by U.S., Malagasy, and Comorian educational, cultural, and non-profit organizations, as well as individuals. The aim is to promote U.S. values, strengthen understanding between the U.S. and Malagasy/Comorian communities, and support Embassy goals such as human rights, economic prosperity, and environmental stewardship.
Priority areas include promoting human rights and democracy, advancing media freedom, supporting religious freedom, fostering STEM and entrepreneurship for women and minorities, and promoting cultural exchange. Projects should include a U.S. cultural element or connection to enhance understanding of U.S. policy.
2) Eligibility
Eligible applicants include registered not-for-profit organizations, individuals, non-profit educational institutions, and governmental institutions from the U.S., Madagascar, and Comoros.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Madagascar and Comoros.
4) Budget
The total available funding for the program is $20,000, with individual awards ranging from $2,000 to $5,000.
