Description
1) Objective
In light of the great hardship and major problems facing the people in the war zones of Ukraine, EKFS has made a funding budget available for emergency medical relief since the spring of 2022. Almost 4.5 million euros have been granted since the start of the conflict. In accordance with the purpose of the foundation, the money is used exclusively for medical projects in Ukraine or in directly neighboring countries. The funds are awarded on application, whereby a simplified application procedure is used.
They have funded the following interventions in the past:
- Mental Health Support via the ucare.me online platform
- Healthcare support to internally displaced people in Vinnytsia oblast, Ukraine
- Emergency Consumables Distribution to Critically Important Hospitals in Eastern Ukraine
- Ambulance vehicles for the evacuation, first aid and transport of wounded civilians in eastern Ukraine
- Enhancing Medical Care in Lviv’s National Rehabilitation Center – Unbroken
- Holistic wellbeing support for women affected by war in Ukraine

The resources envisaged for medical aid are available to non-profit organizations in Germany which have their own contacts and structures in Ukraine or neighboring countries.
