Women’s Economic Empowerment in Shirak and Gegharkunik Regions of Armenia

Description

1) Objective

With an overall outcome Women, particularly the poor and socially excluded, use skills, networks, information, economic opportunities and support services to become farmers/entrepreneurs or to join the formal labour sector in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia selected organization/ consortium of organizations will undertake the following tasks:

• Component 1: Capacity Building, Business Development
  • Output 1.1.: Women, particularly the poor and socially excluded, obtain skills and access information, networks, economic opportunities and support services to become farmers/entrepreneurs or to join the formal labour market
• Component 2: Social Mobilization and Local Decision-making Processes
  • Output 1.2: Women and women’s groups are empowered to participate in local planning and budgeting (e.g. GRB discussions), and greater awareness around the harmful social norms is created in the communities

2) Eligibility

Organisations must have: at least 6 years of officially registered legal entity status with presence in Armenia, minimum 5 years of experience in working with women from grassroots communities, minimum 5 years of experience in conducting advocacy job and promoting capacity-building of the beneficiaries, minimum 5 years of relevant experience in working in the area of gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.

3) Location

Actions must be implemented in Armenia.

4) Budget

The budget range for this proposal should be $50,000 – $60,000 per Region (Region 1: Shirak, Region 2: Gegharkunik).

5) Application

Proposals must be received by UN Women at the address specified not later than 21 November 2024.
