Description

1) Objective

The International Visegrad Fund is an international organisation based in Bratislava founded in 2000 by the governments of the Visegrad Group (V4) countries; the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Republic of Poland, and the Slovak Republic. The purpose of the Fund is to facilitate and promote the development of closer cooperation among citizens and institutions in the region as well as between the V4 region and other countries, especially in the Western Balkan and Eastern Partnership regions. Any original proposal can get support if it deals with V4 regional cooperation, advancement of innovativeness and sustainability in Central and Eastern Europe in one of their seven focus areas:

  • (1) culture and common identity;
  • (2) education and capacity building;
  • (3) innovation, R&D, entrepreneurship;
  • (4) democratic values and the media;
  • (5) public policy and institutional partnerships;
  • (6) regional development, environment and tourism;
  • and (7) social development.

2) Eligibility

Any non-governmental legal entity from any country can be an official partner. Partners should possess relevant experience and demonstrate commitment to joint action, with active roles beyond logistical support.

Bilateral cross-border cooperation of at least 2 organizations from 2 neighboring V4 countries (projects taking place within a 40-km radius from the border and focusing on a local issue).
