Description
1) Objective
The Embassy of Canada to Ethiopia in Addis Ababa, which has responsibility for overseeing Sudan, is pleased to launch its annual call for proposals for the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) for Sudan.
All projects must align with at least 1 of the following CFLI thematic priorities for Sudan:
- Inclusive governance, including diversity, human rights and the rule of law.
- Peace and security with a focus on conflict prevention and building peace.
- Gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
2) Eligibility
Eligible recipients include: (1) Local non-governmental, community and not-for-profit organizations; (2) Local academic institutions working on local projects; (3) International non-governmental organizations working on local development activities; (4) Intergovernmental, multilateral and regional institutions, organizations and agencies working on local development activities; (5) Municipal, regional or national government institutions or agencies of the recipient country working on local projects, and
(6) Canadian non-governmental and not-for-profit organizations that are working on local development activities.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Sudan.
4) Budget
The average CFLI contribution is $30,000 to $60,000 Canadian Dollars (CAD$100,000 is the maximum allocation amount for a project eligible under CFLI).
5) Application
The deadline for submission is July 14, 2025 at 23:59 (GMT+2).Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered. Proposals must be submitted electronically to addis.sudan_soudan@international.gc.ca.
