Description
1) Objective
CEPF and Burung Indonesia, as regional implementation team for the hotspot, are accepting letters of inquiry (LOIs) from non-government organizations, community groups, Indigenous people’s organizations, women’s groups, private companies and other civil society organizations (CSOs) in relation to the eligible activities and geographies described below.
In this Call for Proposals, funding is focused on terrestrial ecosystems in the Sangihe-Talaud, Minahasa, South-Sulawesi, Halmahera, and the Sumba clusters, and separately, on marine ecosystems in the North Sulawesi Sea Corridor and Solor-Alor. The scope of these calls is limited to the Biodiversity Priority Areas and corridors listed in the updated investment strategy. Applicants are asked to propose activities that clearly address one or a combination of the following topics:
- Reduce threats to priority terrestrial, freshwater, coastal, and marine species.
- Improving the effectiveness of management of areas important for biodiversity.
- Supporting sustainable management of natural resources by indigenous peoples and local communities.
2) Eligibility

3) Location

4) Budget
This is a simultaneous call for letters of inquiry for small and large grants. CEPF small grants are up to US $50,000. CEPF large grants for this call will be between $50,000 and $150,000. Proposals for greater than $150,000 may be summarily disqualified.
5) Application
Applicants must respond to the call via the ConservationGrants electronic portal. CEPF will not accept letters of inquiry via email or any other mechanism. The application deadline is 27 September 2026.
