Description
1) Objective
The UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia invites proposals from qualified national organizations to support the implementation of a media capacity-building programme on climate change, cultural and geo-heritage, Geoparks, and sustainable tourism in Mongolia, in the lead-up to COP17. The activity is implemented under the UNESCO–Rio Tinto Mongolia (RTM) project “Promoting Sustainable Tourism in Mongolia through Cultural and Geo Heritage” (2024–2026).
The programme aims to:
- Strengthen media professionals’ skills in ethical, constructive, solution-based, and audience-oriented climate and environmental reporting, including the use of data and evidence.
- Promote integration of geo-heritage and Geopark perspectives into climate and sustainable tourism narratives
- Support national COP17 communication efforts through complementary and value-added capacity-building
- Facilitate collaboration and knowledge exchange between media professionals, national institutions, academic experts and civil society partners
2) Eligibility
The proposing organization: Must be a legally registered organization (e.g. non-governmental organization, non-profit organization, civil society organization, academic or research institution, or other eligible legal entity) in accordance with national law.
3) Location
Support is provided to projects implemented in Mongolia.
4) Budget
