Description
1) Objective
Set up in 1993, the Erik Kosking Trust was set up in memory of Eric Hosking, one of the world’s most eminent natural history photographers. The aims of the Trust are to support natural history and ornithological research through the media of writing, photography, painting or illustration. The Trust bursaries are to be awarded annually to applicants requiring financial assistance, in order to pursue projects on Birds and other Natural History subjects, which are of scientific and conservation value, through the media of writing, photography, painting or illustration.
The Trustees recognise that their bursaries, of approximately £1,000, may form only part of the total finance required for the project. Under these circumstances applicants are requested to specify other sources of their funding and define what area of the project that the award would be spent on. Successful applicants will be asked to acknowledge the Eric Hosking Charitable Trust wherever possible and provide a copy of any written report to the Trust and a copy of any published results. They encourage successful applicants to keep in touch with the Trust and, where projects are ongoing, consider applying again for more funding.
2) Eligibility
Eligible are individuals.
3) Location
Actions can take place worldwide.
4) Budget
The bursary is £1,000.
5) Application
The application form should be completed to aid the Trustees in assessing the suitability of your projects. If you have any additional information to submit (in addition to the Google Form), please email it to info@erichoskingtrust.com. Please try and limit any additional material to no more than 3 extra pages. Only one application per person per organisation per year will be accepted. All applications should be returned by 30 September. All applicants will be notified of the Trustees decision by 31 December, and the bursaries will be paid to successful applicants when required.
