Description
1) About
Danida is the term used for Denmark’s development cooperation, which is an area of activity under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. The aim of Denmark’s development cooperation is to reduce poverty through the promotion of human rights and economic growth. It is focused on some of the poorest countries in the world. In line with Denmark’s new development strategy, Danish development cooperation targets four main priority areas: (1) security and development – peace, security and protection; (2) migration and development; (3) inclusive, sustainable growth and development; and (4) freedom and development – democracy, human rights and gender equality. Through efforts to combat poverty and promote human rights and growth Denmark’s development cooperation works to support the creation of societies that ensure people’s rights and promote equality, including access to decent employment, education, health as well as social protection. The Danish government formulates Danida’s strategy on an annual basis to ensure maximum impact and results of Danish development cooperation and a significant Danish contribution to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
