Description
1) About
The U.S. Embassy in La Paz conducts diplomatic relations with the government of Bolivia and strives to strengthen mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and Bolivia. It seeks to promote understanding of the U.S., its society, government, and policies, through cultural and information programs that reach all of Bolivian society. Their local grant making scheme includes: (1) educational exchange: the U.S. Department of State sponsors multiple programs for educational, cultural, and professional exchanges with Bolivia; (2) English language programs: providing Bolivians more opportunities to learn English, so that they can attend universities in the United States and participate in exchange programs; (3) Alumni: the International Exchange Alumni is an online community for current and emerging leaders; (4) Book Donation Program: contribution to the education and culture of the Bolivian people through the Book Program “The United States and Bolivia United in Reading”; and (5) Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP): to preserve historic sites, manuscripts, museum collections, and traditional forms of expressions such as music, dance, and languages.

4) Application Procedure
Application procedures differ for the various grant programs. Usually, a call for proposal is announced on their website when a specific application window opens. The AFCP, as an example, usually opens towards the end of the year and accepts proposals at the amount of $200,000.
