Description
1) Objective
WFP operations in Sudan are guided by its Country Strategic Plan (CSP) 2019 – 2023, which helps it to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 2) – Zero Hunger; and SDG 17 the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development. In 2024, WFP plans to provide food and cash assistance to approximately 6.5 million food insecure people across the 18 states.
Expected Results are:
- People affected by shocks in targeted areas have access to food, nutrition, and livelihoods during/after crises.
- Reduce malnutrition and its root causes through an integrated package of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions.
2) Eligibility
NGOs and INGOs with presence and proven capacity to operate in Sudan, and with an existing cost-efficient cluster presence/approach are eligible to submit their technical and financial proposals. It is essential for organizations to demonstrate their competence and experience in implementing similar activities as per the focus areas of general food assistance (GFA) through cash and in-kind transfers.
