Description
1) Objective
The Call for Proposals for Low-Value Grants Projects is a component of the project “Strengthening Integrated Sustainable Landscape Management in Enga Province Papua New Guinea – Enga SISLaM” (hereinafter referred as ‘the Project’), funded entirely by the European Union.
The project aims to assist in strengthening sustainable and inclusive economic development of the Enga Province of Papua New Guinea. The project has three Strategic Objectives:
i) improving climate change mitigation and adaption;
ii) ii) strengthening food and nutrition efforts and
iii) iii) improving biodiversity and land/forest conservation.
To contribute to the achievement of the objectives, the project is rolling out a transparent low-value grants disbursement fund to support community-based projects. The objective of providing low-value grants is to provide seed funding and financing opportunities to local organizations to improve and support climate-friendly livelihood opportunities.
2) Eligibility
Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Civil Society Organizations, Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and Cooperative Societies and or Incorporated Associations are encouraged to submit applications.
3) Location
Action must be implemented in Papua New Guinea. Project activities may take place in Hela and/or Morobe Provinces.
4) Budget
The granted amount will range from a minimum PGK 45,000.00 (Forty-Five thousand Papua New Guinea Kina) to a maximum of PGK 90,000.00 (Ninety thousand Papua New Guinean Kina). Successful applicants will have to contribute a minimum of 20% of the total grant amount. This contribution of 20% can be expressed in cash at the disposal of recipients or as the in-kind contribution of applicants (for example, property, inventory necessary for the implementation of the low-value grant project, physical work to be done by the applicant).
