Description
1) Objective
Civil society is a prerequisite for a functioning democracy. So that she could hers to play an irreplaceable role, the active involvement of citizens in public affairs and in the decision-making processes, enhance transparency in governance, improve civil quality education and media education. Respect for human rights must be promoted and taken into account needs of disadvantaged groups. Activating and involving young people is also a persistent challenge. That is why the Active Citizens Fund program focuses on financial support for civic activities strengthening effective cooperation and training and capacity building of the civil sector. Within the Active Citizens Fund, the thematic areas and projects are defined for projects program orientations.
Supported projects must be linked to one of the following thematic areas: (1) Active citizenship; (2) Human rights; (3) Disadvantaged groups; (4) Gender equality; and (5) Climate change. Each project must contribute to one of the defined program orientations: (1) Civic participation; (2) Advocacy and watchdog activities; (3) Defending the interests of disadvantaged groups; (4) Civic education and media education; and (5) Strengthening the capacity of non-profit organizations.
An applicant from the Czech Republic is entitled if: (1) it is a non-governmental non-profit organization that is a legal entity in the territory Of the Czech Republic and is defined by law as a society, institute, public benefit society, foundation and endowment fund or special-purpose facilities of churches, eventually of interest association of legal entities, if all members of the association individually meet conditions of eligibility of the applicant and are non-governmental non-profit organizations; and (2) has been active for at least one year at the time the grant application is submitted (ie, at the filing date, it meets the condition of 1 year from the date of registration of the organization). Organizations from donor countries may also be eligible if they are non-commercial entities established for purposes other than profit.

Actions must take place in Czech Republic.
4) Budget
Bilateral Cooperation Fund has been set up under the Active Program Citizens Fund allocated a total of €150,000. Part of the Fund’s funding of €65,000 is intended for bilateral support projects. The minimum amount of individual grants is €1,000, the maximum is €4,000. The recommended length of bilateral projects ranges from 1 to 9 months.
5) Application
Applications may be submitted continuously from the date of publication until 31 August 2023 or until exhaustion financial resources. The application is completed in Czech in the Grantys database (in the case of organizations from the Czech Republic), respectively sent by e-mail.
