Description
1) Objective
The Embassy of the Netherlands in Georgia is pleased to announce the first call for proposals 2025 for Georgian civil society organisations under MATRA and the Human Rights Fund. Please note that the Embassy expects to announce a second call for proposals in summer 2025. The objective of MATRA is to contribute to sustainable societal transformation. Projects submitted for funding under MATRA should focus on supporting democratisation and/or on addressing related challenges that Georgia is facing at the moment. They aim to support the following four human rights priorities from this Fund in 2025:
- Freedom of expression online and offline;
- Equal rights for LGBTIQ+ people;
- Human rights defenders and civic space;
- Equal rights for women and girls.
2) Eligibility
This call is open to independent, non-partisan civil society organisations working in Georgia. Priority will be given to projects and organisations working outside Tbilisi.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Georgia.
4) Budget
Budget requested from the Embassy of the Netherlands for the project can be maximum GEL 70,000.
5) Application
Applicant submits a full proposal with the budget using the online forms by 21 February 2025 via e-mail.
