Description
1) Objective
The Embassy of France to the Philippines and Micronesia is launching the “Youth and Oceans” program under the Fonds Equipe France-Organisations de la Société Civile (FEF-OSC). This initiative aims to support Filipino youth and civil society organizations (CSOs) in fostering awareness and action for ocean conservation. The program is in preparation for the United Nations Conference on the Oceans in Nice, France, scheduled for June 2025.
This fund is dedicated to support various activities engaging Filipino youth in ocean conservation by raising awareness, and empower civil society organizations in areas related to the protection of oceans such as:
– Biodiversity, marine conservation, protection of ecosystems;
– Blue economy;
– Climate resilience;
– Plastic pollution, waste reduction;
– Sustainable tourism;
– Sustainable fisheries.
2) Eligibility
Under Component 1, CSOs (such as NGOs, foundations, think tanks, and cooperatives) registered with SEC or DSWD are eligible for grants up to 80,000 euros per project. Component 2 targets student associations, eligible for grants up to 10,000 euros per project, provided they partner with eligible CSOs.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Philippines.
4) Budget
COMPONENT 1: Grants of maximum 80,000 euros for each project conducted in 2024 and 2025 by any type of civil society organization.
COMPONENT 2: Grants of maximum 10,000 euros for each project conducted in 2024 and 2025 by student associations.
5) Application
The call for proposals starts on June 5, 2024, with applications due by July 5, 2024. Results will be published between August 5 and August 12, 2024, with grant confirmation and signing of agreements by August 30, 2024. Projects are expected to commence by September 5, 2024.
