Description
1) Objective
The Baugh Foundation most often funds projects focused on separation of church and state, far-reaching interfaith projects, and other topics critical to faith in our democracy. Within this broad framework, they most often fund projects that focus on:
- Social justice and advocacy
- Faith-based journalism
- Meeting basic human needs
- Faith-based post-secondary education
- Inclusivity initiatives
- Arts and enrichment
2) Eligibility
They warmly welcome applications from progressive organizations, working in faith-related spaces. They define faith broadly, and most often fund three types of organizations: Progressive Baptist organizations and institutions; Faith-based, nonprofit organizations that share the Foundation’s ethical sensitivities; Nonprofit organizations that guard the separation between church and state.
3) Location
The Baugh Foundation funds both domestic and international projects, however the majority of giving goes to projects in the United States. International applicants must have a United States 501(c)(3), or partner with one as a fiscal sponsor. International applicants or projects have the best chance at success when their organization aligns with the majority of funding priorities.
4) Budget
The Baugh Foundation provides approximately $12 million dollars per year in grant funding, across approximately 80 grants. Grant awards are most often for one year, are renewable, and awarded for amounts between $5,000-$100,000. Most awards to new grantees are between $5,000-$20,000.
5) Application
Nominations for the 2025 International Gender Equality Prize are now open! You can submit your proposal until 1 June online.
