1) Objective

The Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care, and Consumer Protection (BMSGPK) launches a special directive to combat poverty in third countries amidst escalating global crises. With an additional fund of 15 million euros, the objective is to support non-profit organizations in implementing sustainable projects aimed at alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations in the global South. These crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic, armed conflicts, inflation, and climate change, have exacerbated poverty levels, necessitating urgent action.   • Measures to meet basic socio-economic needs;
  • Measures to improve individual health including health promotion and prevention;
  • Ensuring the availability, access, quality and of care and health services;
  • Social inclusion measures;
  • Measures to promote a self-determined, non-discriminatory life of people with disabilities;
  • Prevention and fight against gender-based violence, especially in the context of female poverty;
  • Concrete material aid and support for the improvement of housing conditions, housing security or protection against the threat of homelessness and homelessness as well as subsidies for basic housing equipment;
  • Measures to combat child poverty or to promote the health and well-being of children by improving their material and social participation;
  • Measures for the social security of vulnerable and poverty-affected groups and for the expansion of social protection systems;
