Description

1) Objective

WomenStrong International provides unrestricted grants to women-led organizations working in their communities. They are seeking to build a cohort of women-led organizations striving to raise awareness of and build movements around climate and environmental justice within their communities. These organizations will work to mobilize women, both as the people most affected by climate breakdown and environmental injustice, but also as the key drivers behind local actions to tackle them.

Many will work at the intersections of gender and climate and tackle the same issues that our current 19 WomenStrong partners work on – reproductive health, girls’ education, women’s economic security, and preventing violence against women and girls – as these issues are not only exacerbated by the climate crisis, but because successful strategies for advancing climate and environmental justice require intersectional approaches.

2) Eligibility

Eligible applicants are women-led NGOs with less than $600,000 annual budget.

3) Location

Actions can take place across the globe.

4) Budget

Grant sizes are not mentioned.

5) Application

The deadline for submissions is November 30 2024 at 11:59PM EST. An expression of interest must be submitted online.
