Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) – Myanmar

Description

1) Objective

The Embassy of Canada in Myanmar is seeking project applications for the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) program. The CFLI program supports small results-oriented projects which are proposed and implemented by civil society in Myanmar. CFLI is a responsive, flexible program which enables Canada to respond to local needs by working at the community level. The project must support the CFLI thematic priorities. Application will be evaluated based on links to priorities, technical merit and cost-effectiveness.

All projects must align with at least one of the following CFLI thematic priorities:

• Inclusive governance, including diversity and 2SLGBTQI+, democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
• Peace and security, with a focus on conflict prevention and building peace.
• Gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

2) Eligibility 

Eligible for funding are: (1) local non-governmental, community and not-for-profit organisations; (2) local academic institutions working on local projects; (3) international, intergovernmental, multilateral and regional institutions, organisations and agencies working on local development activities; (4) municipal, regional or national government institutions or agencies of the recipient country working on local projects, and (5) Canadian non-governmental and not-for-profit organisations that are working on local development activities.

3) Location

Actions must take place in Myanmar.

4) Budget

The average CFLI contribution is $40,000 to $50,000 Canadian Dollars.

5) Application

The deadline for submission is Friday, April 12, 2024, at 16:30 (Yangon Time). Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered.
