Description
1) Objective
Gilead Sciences, Inc. is a research-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops and commercialises innovative medicines in areas of unmet medical need. They strive to transform and simplify care for people with life-threatening illnesses around the world. Gilead welcomes funding requests for innovative, high impact projects that relate to at least one of our core therapeutic areas:
- HIV
- Liver disease: HCV, HBV, HDV
- Oncology: Hematology, Solid tumors
- Inflammatory and respiratory disease
Abroad, they also fund projects that (1) improve access to healthcare; (2) reduce disparities for disadvantaged groups; (3) educate among patients and healthcare professionals; and (4) support local communities.
2) Eligibility
They work with patient advocates, nonprofits, and healthcare professionals across all our therapeutic areas of focus to improve care through partnerships and community engagement. Only tax exempt nonprofits are eligible.

4) Budget
Gilead does not place a limit on how much grantees can apply for.
5) Application
To apply for financial support under Gilead’s Corporate Giving program, applicants are required to visit the U.S. Corporate Grants and Giving page as application procedures and eligibility vary according to location. Grant applications are accepted throughout the year. Funding requests must be submitted a minimum of eight weeks prior to the start of the activity. The typical grant review timeline can be up to 12 weeks. Formal notifications of all funding decisions are sent in writing by email to the contact listed on the grant application.
