Description
1) Objective
The U.S. Embassy Dushanbe Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce funding is available through the Embassy’s Democracy Commission Small Grants Program. This program supports the development of Tajikistan’s democratic institutions and civil society by competitively awarding small grants to Tajikistan’s nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and associations, to nonprofit civil society organizations (CSOs), and to independent local media organizations.
- Topic 1: Support for Independent Media – Project Goal: To increase the capacity of independent bloggers and social media influencers to produce content that counters misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda
- Topic 2: Countering Violent Extremism – Project Goal: To increase the amount of anti-extremist content in Tajikistan’s traditional and social media space through the recruitment of a cadre of moderate voices to produce and share positive content
- Topic 3: Women’s Economic Security and Empowerment – Project Goal: Increase capacity of women from underserved and rural communities to participate in the labor market
- Topic 4: Environmental Awareness and Action
2) Eligibility
The following organizations are eligible to apply: Not-for-profit organizations, For-profit organizations, Civil society/non-governmental organizations.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Tajikistan.
4) Budget
The grant size is $10,000-$50,000.
5) Application
All applications must be submitted on or before 14 April 2023.
