Description
1) Objective
The results achieved under the proposed partnership are focused on demonstrating models for sustainable and resilient WASH services in health centres. Interventions under the partnership will be implemented in 3 Regions. Quantitative results in this section are therefore representative of the overall program.
1. 15 Hospitals and 30 Health Centres have improved, climate resilient WASH services a. Joint needs and feasibility assessment carried out with GHS-HASS, district and facility-level authorities, in collaboration with all other relevant actors at the national and sub-national levels b. Workplan and schedule developed along with costed BoQs for construction c. Construction/rehabilitation carried out in selected healthcare facilities
2. Operations and Maintenance systems are reinforced for sustainable IPC in facilities a. Develop O&M; manuals and masterplans for sustaining and enhancing WASH services in hospitals, including Water Safety Planning b. Train key staff on regular maintenance c. Refine and define, with key stakeholders, procedures and SOPs for operations and maintenance
3. Management systems are developed and tested in 15 districts a. Develop documentation for partnership and business models towards improving WASH O&M; in hospitals and health centres b. Validate and test appropriate model(s) above with relevant district stakeholders
4. Project learning is documented and shared a. Support knowledge sharing on WASH/IPC and O&M; amongst facilities within referral clusters b. Support sub-sector knowledge management through activities, including but not limited to, development of technical briefs and conference papers
