Description
1) Objective
The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) announces an open competition for proposals from organizations that will empower marginalized racial and ethnic communities in Europe, including but not limited to people of African descent and/or Roma.
Proposals should address DRL’s priority goals:
1. Mitigate structural racism, xenophobia, and discrimination found in institutions designed to protect and serve all people in society, including marginalized racial and ethnic communities;
2. Ensure the fair administration of, and access to, justice for marginalized racial and ethnic communities; and,
3. Counter societal discrimination and violence by advancing equity, social inclusion, and equality for all.
2) Eligibility
DRL welcomes applications from U.S.-based and foreign-based non-profit organizations/nongovernmental organizations (NGO) and public international organizations; private, public, or state institutions of higher education; and for-profit organizations or businesses. DRL’s preference is to work with non-profit entities; however, there may be some occasions when a for-profit entity is best suited.

Total available funding is $1,000,000. They plan to award one grant.
