Description
1) Objective
The Department of State’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) is soliciting proposals for projects aimed at promoting peaceful elections in Benin. The initiative seeks to support democratic processes and ensure free, fair, and transparent elections in the country. By addressing key challenges related to electoral integrity, civic engagement, and conflict prevention, the program aims to contribute to a peaceful electoral environment in Benin.
Activities may include voter education, civil society capacity-building, electoral observation, and conflict mitigation efforts. Through strategic interventions, the objective is to enhance public trust in the electoral process, mitigate electoral violence, and strengthen democratic institutions in Benin.
2) Eligibility
Eligible applicants include U.S.-based and foreign-based non-profit organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), public international organizations, institutions of higher education, and for-profit organizations or businesses. DRL prefers to collaborate with non-profit entities but may consider for-profit organizations in certain circumstances.
