Description
1) Objective
The partnership aims to contribute to the following overall outcome: Smallholder farmers in Toledo demonstrate improved knowledge and initial application of climate-smart agricultural and postharvest practices. To achieve this, the selected partner will support WFP to deliver the following components:
- 1. Community engagement and targeting: Community-driven targeting conducted in San Miguel and San Pedro Columbia through participatory meetings with the community, farmers and representatives of local governance structures (alcaldes and village councils), resulting in a validated list of 200 eligible farmers. Transparent selection processes facilitated and documented, ensuring broad participation of women, youth, and Indigenous community members.
- 2. Farmer training and capacity strengthening: Farmers trained on climate-smart agriculture, post-harvest management, and agribusiness skills through context-sensitive sessions. Training logistics and materials managed to maximise participation and learning outcomes.
- 3. Vouchers for access to agricultural inputs supported: Farmers sensitised and supported to redeem vouchers for agricultural inputs through community outreach, logistical coordination, and communication with participating suppliers. Feedback collected during distribution and shared through WFP’s Community Feedback Mechanism (CFM).
- 4. Inclusive participation and documentation ensured
