Description
1) Objective
The EZ Small Project Fund (EZ-KPF), financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aims to improve the living conditions of disadvantaged groups in developing countries. It focuses on strengthening the capacities of target groups and partner organizations through small development policy projects. The fund is designed to help East German NGOs and Berlin-based associations gain experience in planning, implementing, and managing foreign projects, thereby enhancing their development policy capabilities.
Additionally, the program seeks to diversify the financing base for these organizations, promoting sustainable project partnerships and anchoring development policy in East German civil society. The EZ-KPF also encourages migrant-diasporic NGOs (MDO) to leverage their on-site knowledge for effective project funding.
2) Eligibility
Non-profit associations based in East Germany and Berlin are eligible to apply for the EZ-KPF. For NGOs in the West German federal states, the W. P. Schmitz Foundations should be contacted. The fund is also explicitly open to migrant-diasporic non-governmental organizations (MDOs), which can bring valuable insights and knowledge to project implementation.
3) Location
Projects can be supported in all developing countries of the OECD-DAC list.
4) Budget
The EZ-KPF provides funding up to €50,000 for each project.
5) Application
The application process includes submitting detailed project plans, demonstrating how the project will improve living conditions and strengthen local capacities. Regular qualification seminars are available to help NGOs and MDOs with the application process, project planning, and financial reporting. There are no deadlines.
