Description
1) Objective
The Finnish Local Cooperation Fund (LCF) is a fund administered by the Embassy of Finland in Kyiv. The LCF is aimed at supporting local (Ukrainian) civil society organizations (SCOs). In some cases also other types of organizations can be considered eligible, including educational and research institutions, independent media, and cultural organizations. Please note that public state organizations are not eligible for the support, but can be partners of CSOs with their own funding/in-kind contribution.
The Fund for Local Cooperation (FLC), administered by the Embassy of Finland, calls for proposals in 2024/2025 from Ukrainian civil society organisations on the following topics aimed at supporting the resilience of Ukrainian society:
- Education and training (priority topics): Needs-based “catch-up” education for children and youth (offline when possible); Enhancing well-being of teachers and/or learners;
- The rights of women and girls (priority topics): Supporting the prevention of all forms of gender-based and domestic violence
- Environmental protection (priority topics): Consequences of the war on the environment
2) Eligibility
Embassy may also prioritize new applicants over those that have recently received the LCF. An NGO can be funded maximum for two subsequent years.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Ukraine.
4) Budget
The total amount to be disbursed to the selected projects will be around 350,000€, of which 5-10 % will be reserved for the Embassy’s monitoring activities of the funded projects. Maximum 4 projects will be selected for funding. The size of the grant for an individual project can vary depending on the proposal. The Embassy is expecting proposals from civil society organizations with proven experience in implementing projects with a budget of 100,000€ or more and with a sufficient own financial capacity to cover part of the project costs.
