Description
1) Objective
Created in 2006, the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici foundation supports programs and actions in favour of women in France and around the world. They support projects in the areas of (1) women’s rights and fight against violence (e.g. prevention, psychological and psychiatric care, emergency shelter, fight againt domestic violence); (2) vocational training and professional integration (e.g. vocational training, coaching, welfare-to-work program, micro-entrepreneurship, creation of social enterprise); and (3) education and social action (e.g. access to education, prevention, medical, or psychiatric and psychological care). They also reward exceptional initiatives in their areas of intervention with the RAJA Foundation’s Women’s Award.
2) Eligibility
Eligible for funding are only French non-profit organisations (international organisations with a branch in France may apply through their French structure). The RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation supports projects in favour of women in France and around the world. Grants requests are accepted for projects within the framework of action of the Foundation.
3) Location
They fund projects in Africa (most projects are currently funded in West Africa), Asia (e.g. Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Vietnam, and China), Europe (outside France they currently fund a project in Romania), and Latin America (e.g. Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil).
4) Budget
Grant sizes are on average €15,000. Every year, a total of three such initiatives are rewarded, granting a €20,000 subsidy to each of the three winning actions (available grant money: €60,000).
