Description
1) Objective
This grant opportunity from Dubai Cares has the objective to improve children’s access to quality primary education in developing countries. Dubai Cares designs and funds integrated, impactful, sustainable and scalable primary education programs in developing countries. The fundings are not awarded on a case-by-case basis. Rather, to be considered for funding, proposals should be consistent with Dubai Cares annual programming and approved list of intervention countries. While proposals are assessed throughout the year, only during the last quarter are the new programs for the upcoming year finalized and approved.
It supports programs in early childhood development, access to quality primary and secondary education, technical and vocational education and training for youth as well as a particular focus on education in emergencies and protracted crises.
2) Eligibility
Applicants must be non-governmental organisations, have a focus on primary education interventions, have a minimum of five years of experience in field implementation within the proposed country, maintain partnerships and associations with more than one donor organization, maintain audited financial statements and must use no more than 7% of donations for overhead.
3) Location
They are working in app. 60 developing countries in Africa, Asia and Europe.
4) Budget
No upper and lower budget limits are provided. Grants in the past have ranged from a few hundred thousand $ up to various million $.
