Description
1) Objective
The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP), within The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), provides civil society organizations with technical and financial support. Under its new funding cycle, the SGP is inviting interested NGO, CBO, village council, academic or activist group to complete a project proposal form for consideration for funding within the following thematic areas:
- Community-based conservation of threatened ecosystems and species
- Sustainable agriculture and fisheries, and food security
- Low-carbon energy access co-benefits
- Local to global coalitions for chemicals and waste management
- Water Conservation
2) Eligibility
Eligible are NGOs, CBOs, village councils, academic or activist groups.
3) Location
Actions must take place in Trinidad and Tobago.
4) Budget
Grants requests must have maximum community reach and must be sustainable. There are two levels of grant funding available: (1) Planning grant – a planning grant can be used to conduct a study for the implementation of a pilot project or the implementation of a project that has a maximum value of USD 5,000; and (2) Full grant – maximum value of USD 50,000, available to CSOs or formal partnerships between CSOs and enterprises.
