Description

1) Objective

The Embassy of Japan provides a non-refundable financial assistance named Grant Assistance for Grassroots  Human Security Projects (GGP) to organized groups in order to help them carry out projects at grassroots level. Founded in 1993, this grant has contributed to the development and improvement of the livelihoods of less  privileged people. Priority is given to project proposals that best meet the objectives of this grant scheme.

Eligible projects include but not limited: (1) Project for construction, rehabilitation, equipment; (2) Projects for Socio-economic development, in Education (schools), Health (hospitals), professional training (vocational training centres), transport (small bridges), Water (wells, water supply), economic (small industry for local income), agriculture (strage magazine); (3) Projects for improvement of livelihoods at grassroots level; and (4) Projects in favor of the less privileged.

2) Eligibility

GGP funds only non-profit making projects and organizations such as (1) Local and International NGOs; (2)  Professional, health, or educational training centers; (3) CIGs (Common Initiative Groups), CBOs (Community Based Organizations) and local development committees; (4) Educational or health institutes; and (5) Local authorities.

3) Location

Actions must take place in Cameroon.

4) Budget

The maximum amount of the grant is about 50,000,000 FCFA (approx. 85,000 USD) for each project.

5) Application
