Description
1) Objective
The Hear the World Foundation is committed to improve the quality of life and promote equal opportunities for people with hearing loss globally. The Foundation has a special focus on projects that support children reach their development milestones and realize their full potential in life regardless of their hearing loss. The aim of the Hear the World Foundation is to enable people all over the world to enjoy better hearing.
Every year the Foundation receives a large number of applications for support and the Foundation primarily supports projects that can make a lasting positive impact. The Foundation supports non-profit organisations that provide hearing healthcare services with a special focus on: children, programs for parents and families, prevention of hearing loss and professional training.
2) Eligibility
Eligible are: (1) locally-rooted organizations in low- to middle-income countries; (2) professional, legally registered non-profit organizations including NGOs, community groups, hospitals and actors within the private sector, preferably working with local governments and in networks with other organizations; (3) financially stable and transparent partners, working towards a self-reliant hearing health care model.
3) Location
Actions can take place in low- to middle-income countries.
4) Budget
The Hear the World Foundation supports selected projects financially as well as through the provision of hearing aids, hearing aid batteries, FM-systems, audiological equipment and professional expertise. Their annual grant budget is around $2,000,000 and they fund on average 25 projects. Average grant size is around $80,000.
5) Application
An application for funding can be submitted to the Hear the World Foundation for those projects within the scope of the Foundation’s purpose. The application form will be available from 2-23 September 2024. They will carefully review all submitted documents and inform you end-October whether your application has been shortlisted. In case of a positive evaluation, they will ask you to submit further detailed project information.
