Description

1) Objective

A visionary businessman responsible for building the largest hotel real estate empire of his time and the first American international hotel company, Conrad N. Hilton was also a visionary philanthropist committed to world peace and economic stability. In 1986 the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation established the Conrad N. Hilton Fund for Sisters specifically to support the apostolic work of Roman Catholic sisters in accordance with his Last Will and Testament.

The Fund provides funding to international development projects that support: (1) Anti-trafficking Services; (2) Educational & Empowerment Programs/Communications; (3) Environmental Issues Affecting the Quality of Life; (4) Healthcare; (5) Safe water, Food, and Agriculture; and (6) Services to Immigrants, Refugees, and Persons Without Housing.

2) Eligibility

All kinds of non-profit organisations are eligible for funding. Only projects that directly involve and employ full-time avowed members of an officially recognised Catholic congregation of women are eligible for funding.

3) Location

They are funding projects worldwide.

4) Budget

Grants usually do not exceed $25,000. Salaries/stipends are not a funding priority. The maximum number of grants an organisation may receive is 3 grants within a 7-year period.

5) Application

Applications are done online. There exist 3 grant cycles per year. Deadlines for applications each year are: February 1, June 1, October 1. The grant request process has two steps. Step one is to submit a project proposal. If the proposal meets all of their requirements, applicants are invited to submit a grant application, which is step two.
